JCCBI launches website with enhanced user-experience and mobility features

Today, The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) is proud to launch its new website. This milestone meets a priority in JCCBI’s 2020-2024 strategic plan to act as an innovative and proactive mobility leader by improving its user experience.

Data analysis and satisfaction survey

JCCBI conducted an in-depth analysis of web browsing data and a satisfaction survey among users of its road and active mobility network that pertained to five aspects of its website. This information was used to launch a website that is more responsive to visitors’ actual needs.

Main improvements

With the aim of continuous improvement based on user comments and suggestions, JCCBI has improved the tree structure, home page, content, graphic presentation, Live Traffic section, and Contact Us form of its website as per best practices.

  • The site’s tree structure has been revamped with simplified navigation and a better classification of menus and sub-menus.
  • The home page provides access to the Live Traffic section, which is the page most consulted by web visitors.

  • The 2,240 pages of the old site were reviewed, and content was deleted, changed, add, standardized or moved. The new site now has 1,070 pages.
  • The graphical presentation has been updated to emphasize videos and photos and optimize viewing on all mobile devices.
  • The Live Traffic section has been enlarged for better readability and streamlined for easier consultation. This page can be immediately accessed, as it is the one most consulted by visitors.
  • The Contact Us form has been improved mainly to help users submit a request through choices in drop-down lists so that JCCBI can respond more quickly and accurately.

Website traffic data (from April 6, 2019 to April 5, 2020):

  • 395,000 visitors
  • 606,000 visits
  • 1,091,000 page views
  • 60% of the viewed pages relate to network information (traffic and work)
  • 50% of the page views are from mobile devices

Our goal is to optimize and enhance our communication tools for users so that we can keep improving the flow in our traffic and active mobility network.
