The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) and Nouvel Horizon Saint-Laurent (NHSL) started a major step in the deconstruction of the original Champlain Bridge with the dismantling of the bridge’s steel structure.

This operation began over the St. Lawrence River with the removal of the main steel span which had been part of the bridge for over 60 years.
