In November 2023, JCCBI began deconstructing the Île des Sœurs Bypass Bridge, a temporary structure built in 2014 as a bypass route during the construction of the new Île-des-Sœurs Bridge and the Samuel De Champlain Bridge.
Bridge deconstruction was completed in December 2024. The riverbanks and Île des Sœurs site were restored to their pre-construction condition.
This work consisted of a preliminary step in the major project to reconfigure the Bonaventure Expressway, which will begin in the coming months.
