Reconfiguration of the Bonaventure Expressway

JCCBI has implemented measures to mitigate the environmental impacts associated with the project.

The preservation and enhancement of the ecosystems is a key priority.

• Native species will be planted on the riverbank and green spaces to promote the development of local biodiversity (e.g., brown snakes).
• The plan is to perform an extensive environmental assessment and monitoring program throughout the work to apply optimal protections to plant and animal species in the area.
• Since the Bonaventure Expressway sector was used for nearly 100 years as a landfill area for industrial and domestic waste, JCCBI implemented the Solution Bonaventure project to apply concrete solutions to prevent contaminants from seeping into the river.
