To improve the experience and safety of active mobility users, JCCBI installed in fall 2022 a variety of new road signs, radar speed signs, and variable messaging signs at strategic locations on the multipurpose path and sidewalk of the Jacques Cartier Bridge.
Road signs have been installed at strategic locations on the multipurpose path:
CAUTION: In winter, stay safe and take extra caution!
“Winter Conditions” tab signs have been put up under the signs on the multipurpose path:
Slowing down can prevent many accidents. Active transportation is everyone’s responsibility. There’s no need to hurry!
Radar speed signs have been installed to make everyone aware of the importance of obeying the speed limit on the multipurpose path:
Road signs have been installed at strategic locations on the sidewalk:

Digital displays and variable messaging signs (VMS) have been installed to inform users about the condition of the multipurpose path and sidewalk:
Indicates that it is mandatory for cyclists to get off their bicycles for safety reasons. A sign is installed at both entrances to the tunnel, on the bicycle path side (towards Beauharnois west sector).
In both tunnel tubes, as well as on the shoulders.
Using roadways is forbidden. The sign also specifies that the sidewalk will be closed from December 1st to April 15 each year, or subject to weather conditions.
