Melocheville Tunnel Sidewalk

Melocheville Tunnel Sidewalk

Located near the Beauharnois generating station, the Melocheville Tunnel passes directly under the St. Lawrence Seaway to maintain a constant flow of vehicles—and pedestrians! In fact, the tunnel has a dedicated sidewalk that lets you safely walk the 1.4 km under the river.

Schedule

Summer season schedule: open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week*.

*JCCBI would like to remind you that throughout the summer season, occasional closures will be necessary in order to perform some maintenance work and that it is essential to respect the closure notices for safety reasons.

Winter season schedule: closed*

* The start date of the winter season schedule is set by the City of Beauharnois.

At all times, JCCBI invites pedestrians and cyclists to be cautious and courteous on the paths and follow all safety instructions.
