Update : March 27, 2020
In light of the current situation with COVID-19, the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) has decided to extend the submission deadline for the art contest that was originally set for March 27. Interested artists can still send photos of their submissions to [email protected]. The theme of the 2020 contest is Kahnawà:ke’s Shared Vision Statement, which can be viewed online here.
Selected artwork will be printed on banners that will be displayed along the Federal section of the Honoré Mercier Bridge. The project is sponsored by The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) as a follow-up to the similar and very successful initiative that took place in 2017. The MCK was a partner in that project and will also assist in this new contest.
