Active mobility | JCCBI wins PIARC-Quebec 2022 National Award

The XVI World Winter Service and Road Resilience Congress was held in Calgary from February 7 to 11.

We are proud to announce that our teams who worked on the winter maintenance project for the Jacques Cartier Bridge multipurpose path and sidewalk, along with our partner Arup, won the PIARC-Quebec 2022 National Award.

To meet the growing demand for winter cycling, JCCBI launched a project to study the winter operation of the Jacques Cartier Bridge multipurpose path and sidewalk in 2017-2019.

The goals were to perform real-world simulations to refine our maintenance, monitoring, communications and user safety protocols.

This project’s stand-out qualities included its structure and in-depth content.

The World Winter Service and Road Resilience Congress brings together road experts and practitioners from around the world for a unique opportunity to fully discuss all aspects of winter road service: traffic management, pavement conditions, deicers, equipment, user information, and more.

Congratulations to everyone for this worldwide recognition of our active mobility expertise!
