For fall of 2025, we are looking for an intern for our Information Resources Department. This internship will give you hands-on experience working alongside our experienced staff on concrete, rewarding projects.

Throughout your internship, you’ll benefit from rigorous supervision by your supervisor, ensuring that your learning progresses in line with your goals. You’ll have the option of doing up to two full-time internships, or after your first internship, opt for a contract extension and work part-time during your studies.

Summary

As an IT quality assurance intern, you will report directly to the Manager, IT Operations and IIM, and support the Information Resources Department team in all areas of quality assurance for the Department’s technological services, including information technology software applications (integrated management software packages, IBM Maximo Asset Management, ArcGIS geomatics, web applications) and operational technology (iNet integrated traffic management system, intelligent transportation systems, Genetec video surveillance).

Your main responsibilities as an intern

  • Understand existing processes and how IT services must support or improve them
  • Develop and document testing procedures to prioritize feature quality validation, including resources to bring in, for technology updates, maintenance and service restoration
  • Support technology product managers (applications, infrastructure) to identify testing and documentation development needs
  • Help run tests and analyze results to ensure system quality
  • Write test reports, manage anomalies and suggest improvements
  • Evaluate and suggest test automation tools
  • Any other related tasks as operations require

Experience and education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering (in progress)
  • Knowledge of agile and testing methodology
  • Good understanding of both official languages
