For the autumn of 2024, we are looking for an intern for our Projects department. This internship will give you hands-on experience working alongside our experienced staff on concrete, rewarding projects.

Throughout your internship, you’ll benefit from rigorous supervision by your supervisor, ensuring that your learning progresses in line with your goals. You’ll have the option of doing up to two full-time internships, or after your first internship, opt for a contract extension and work part-time during your studies.

 

Your main responsibilities as an intern

Help fulfill the mission of the Projects direction : To ensure sound management of infrastructure projects by promoting a partnership approach and leveraging expertise for the benefit of the Corporation.

  • Assist Project Managers in updating and producing certain documents related to costs, schedules and other documentation related to the management of its projects.
  • Establish professional relations with the Project Control Officer (PCO) and project team members.
  • Provide assistance to project directors and coordinators, including providing relevant information in the preparation of various reports, methods or analysis grids, and monitoring projects.
  • Ensure the application of JCCBI processes and procedures related to project management.
  • Assist project coordinators in performing certain tasks.
  • Visit the works in progress and validate shared information during project meetings.
  • Ensure that the different project registers are up to date.
  • Coordinate activities related to project risk management.
  • Participate in the development of project management processes.
  • Attend project meetings and track deliverables.
  • Read and comment on the monthly progress report on construction and engineering contracts.
  • Assist project coordinators in post-mortem engineering and construction meetings and compile lessons learned.
  • Work closely with the Corporation’s partners.
  • Perform any other job-related tasks and duties.

 

Experience and education

  • Are in a bachelor’s program in project management, administration, civil engineering, construction engineering, industrial engineering, or the equivalent.
  • Have good writing skills and you are able to understand and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Have proficiency in written and spoken French, ability to communicate verbally in English.
  • Have working knowledge of MS Project, Excel, Access, Word, Outlook.

 

Assets

  • Have ASP certification to work at a construction site.
  • Are familiar with the standards for structures (bridges and viaducts) and roads as well as environment and site safety standards.
