Notice to residents | Montréal: Major work under the Jacques Cartier Bridge, July 9, 2020

Dear Resident,

 

The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) will be conducting major work to develop the land under the Jacques Cartier Bridge in your sector starting in July 2020. This work will continue until 2021.

 

  • Site remediation work: Installation and set-up of bioretention ponds, access roads, footpaths and greened areas
  • Work hours: Monday to Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Contractor start-up times: 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Sundays and public holidays: work suspended, subject to exceptions
  • Nuisances:
    • This work will generate noise, particularly from the on- and off-site transportation of materials. However, JCCBI will install sound level meters on the site to track noise levels and ensure compliance with current standards.
    • Occasional local traffic hindrances during the work.

In 2020, Zones F, G and H, between De Lorimier, Falardeau and Erie. Note that the contractor’s start-up site will be located in Zone E.

 

In 2021, Zones B, C, D and E*, between De Maisonneuve East, De Lorimier and Falardeau.

 

*Note that due to the pandemic-related work stoppage, Zone E will be developed in 2021.

 

Closures are required during the work to ensure user and worker safety. Note that the schedule may change depending on how the work progresses and on weather conditions.
