Notice to residents | Longueuil: Major work on the Jacques Cartier Bridge, March 6, 2020

Dear Resident,

 

The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) will soon be carrying out major work on the Jacques Cartier Bridge. Below is a summary of the work that will begin shortly.

 

Levelling, paving and marking of deck surfaces

  • Two major work blitzes the weekends of May 1 to 4 and May 15 to 18
  • Complete closure toward the South Shore
  • Work hours: Friday evening to Monday at noon
  • This work will create noise

Abutment work

+ Repairs to the abutment on Saint-Charles Street West

+ Work duration: end of April to early June

+ Work hours: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday

Construction of a multipurpose building

  • Construction work to create a multifunctional building
  • Work duration: spring 2020 to summer 2021
  • Work hours: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday
  • This work will create noise (May to July)
  • Traffic hindrance likely on Sainte-Hélène Street at the corner of Saint-Laurent Street West

Closures are required during the work to ensure user and worker safety. JCCBI recommends that users plan their trips accordingly. Note that the schedule may change depending on how the work progresses and on weather conditions.
