Bicycle Path on the Estacade
Looking for an exceptional view of the St. Lawrence River? During the day and evening, cyclists and pedestrians can take the 2-km bicycle path over the Estacade from Île des Sœurs to the seaway dike bicycle path network.
In the Estacade sector, JCCBI helps protect the site biodiversity by building habitats for species. The structure has a refuge for brown snakes as well as nesting beams for the largest colony of cliff swallows in Quebec. The Champlain Bridge also has nesting boxes for peregrine falcons.
Rest area at the Estacade
Created at the approach to the bicycle path of the Estacade on Île des Sœurs, the rest area lets cyclists and pedestrians take a break while taking in a unique view of the St. Lawrence River. The landscaped area blends into the river’s natural environment and has urban furniture that includes picnic tables, bicycle racks, and a station for minor bicycle repairs. Come discover this new area, which will make your walk or ride all the more enjoyable!
Seasons of use
Please note that the bicycle path on the Estacade is open from April to December. The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) coordinates with the Parc Jean-Drapeau bicycle path network to announce the hours of operation for the bicycle path on the Estacade.
