The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the appointment of Sandra Martel as interim Chief Executive Officer of Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI), for a period of up to seven months. She replaces Glen P. Carlin who resigned from his position of CEO, effective October 19, 2018.
Ms. Martel has been with JCCBI since 2006 in various roles. Most recently she was Senior Director within the organization, a position she accepted in 2012. Ms. Martel has over 23-years of experience in the field of civil engineering including working in building design and research and development at Université de Sherbrooke and in the areas of project management and business development at Expertech and Bell Canada.
A transparent and merit-based process to appoint the next CEO will be launched shortly.
“Residents of the Greater Montreal area can be confident about JCCBI’s commitment to safely operating and maintaining the region’s federal bridges. Ms. Martel’s extensive knowledge in the field of civil engineering and many years’ experience in the organization equip her well to take on these new responsibilities on an interim.”
