The Prix initiatives circulaires was held on October 7, 2021.
Our teams were very proud to learn that the Canada-wide Champlain Bridge Material Reuse Competition won the award in the public organization category of the Prix initiatives circulaires, an event organized by Québec Circulaire and RECYQ-QUÉBEC.
The deconstruction of the Champlain Bridge will result in 287,000 tonnes of leftover material. JCCBI therefore developed an ambitious recovery program based on the 4RE approach (reduce, reuse, recycle, recover, eliminate) to deal with this incredible volume. The Material Reuse Competition is one of the initiatives of this program, and its goal is to have 400 steel components reused in artistic, architectural, commemorative, community and structural projects that will stimulate the urban economy.
Coup de Coeur Prize
The public is invited to vote between October 7 and 17 for their favorite initiative among the 5 winners to determine the winner of the Coup de Coeur prize.
Congratulations to everyone for this wonderful circular initiative that is inspiring change and contributing to sustainable development!
