Polytechnique Montréal takes up the “cardboard bridge” challenge

10 February 2017

During Civil Engineering Week, JCCBI went to the École Polytechnique de Montréal on February 6 to judge the first “cardboard bridge” competition organized by the student association’s civil engineering committee in collaboration with structural engineering professors from the Department of Civil, Geological and Mining Engineering. With the goal of creating a competitive but friendly atmosphere with a focus on design over materials, the competition this year included eight teams that exhibited their creations in the rotunda of the school’s cafeteria.

Olivier Patry temporarily put aside his duties as a JCCBI traffic engineer to judge the projects and select the winning team. Congratulations to the Treillissimo team, which came in first place, and to all teams who entered the competition! Your cardboard bridges were amazing!
