Major work starting on May 11, 2020

The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) will be carrying out major work on the Jacques-Cartier Bridge. Below is a summary of the work starting on May 11, 2020.

Steel (sections 6-7), cleaning and painting work (section 7)
+ Work duration: May 11, 2020 to December 2021
+ Work site hours: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., from Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays, when needed

Abutment work
+ Repairs to the abutment on St. Charles Street West
+ Work duration: May 11 to mid-June, 2020
+ Work site hours: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Saturday

Repair work to concrete pedestals and masonry piers (section 8)
+ Work duration: May 11 to September 4, 2020
+ Work site hours: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Saturday
+ This work will create noise
+ Mitigation measures: installation of acoustic panels

Note that the sidewalk will remain closed during this period and that the multipurpose path will be kept open during work.
