As a manager of important infrastructure, The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (the Corporation) is a federal Crown corporation established in 1978 that is responsible for the Jacques Cartier Bridge, the Champlain Bridge, the Champlain Bridge Ice Control Structure, the Île des Sœurs Bypass Bridge, the federal sections of Bonaventure Expressway and the Honoré Mercier Bridge, as well as the Melocheville Tunnel.

Every day, the Corporation ensures a safe drive for thousands of users by managing, maintaining and repairing this important infrastructure for Greater Montreal. The Corporation also ensures that these critical structures remain safe, fully functional and aesthetically pleasing both today and in the future. It conducts construction, rehabilitation and reinforcement projects on the infrastructure under its responsibility and oversees the operation and maintenance of these structures.


The Director, Finance reports directly to the Corporation’s Senior Director, Administration and will be mainly responsible for the Corporation’s financial, accounting, budget management, and cash flow activities while ensuring compliance with the policies, directives, laws, regulations and other obligations and commitments of the Corporation and for advising and assisting the Corporation’s directors in these areas.

The selected candidate will plan, organize, direct and control these activities by preparing budgets, reports and various financial and accounting analyses; plan, organize, direct and control the proper use of the Corporation’s funds and assets while ensuring this control is compliant with the Corporation’s policies and regulations and the applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws; and prepare requests for the review of different bodies, such as the Board of Directors, some Ministries, the Treasury Board, or the Senior Director, Administration.


  • Advise and assist the Corporation’s directors regarding revenue, expenditures and investments; keep all books, records, documents and financial instruments of the Corporation and ensure the proper use of its funds and assets.
  • Develop and implement various systems, procedures and directives for the Corporation’s accounting and financial management.
  • Ensure the quality of financial statements and ensure these documents are produced on time; develop methods, systems, procedures and standards guaranteeing appropriate and timely financial and budgetary control.
  • Help to continuously improve the functionalities of an integrated information system.
  • Prepare and provide periodic result reports and budgets for the Corporation as well as analyses relating to financial operations.
  • Support managers with the financial and budgetary management of their activities.
  • Represent the Corporation with various external bodies (financial institutions, governments, suppliers, clients, associations) while adhering to a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.


  • The candidate must have a university degree in administration, accounting or finance and be a member of a recognized accounting association.
  • Have over fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience, including ten (10) years in a management position.
  • Have general knowledge and experience in both financial and administrative matters.
  • Demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team and play a role as a member of the management team.
  • Be able to work in a changing and growing environment.
  • Have good business sense; show thoroughness and attention to detail and quality control.
  • Be a motivator who can combine strategic thinking with practical implementation.
  • Have good knowledge of the principles and workings of corporate operations; know how to move things forward through formal and informal communication networks.
  • Be able to easily communicate with people at all management levels.
  • Good ability to communicate orally and in writing in both official languages.
