Deconstruction of the original Champlain Bridge: Work begins on Île des Sœurs

The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) and the Nouvel Horizon Saint-Laurent (NHSL) consortium would like to advise the public that deconstruction work on the Champlain Bridge will begin on Île des Sœurs in the coming weeks.

This work will mainly be carried out on the original Champlain Bridge in the sector of René-Lévesque Boulevard.

The work will involve deconstructing two spans, one pier, and the abutment from the sections above René-Lévesque Boulevard. This work may generate noise, dust and occasional local traffic hindrances. Sound level meters and air quality measurement stations will be set up to ensure compliance with standards.

For more details, please consult the Deconstruction Site web page.

Since a number of our partners will be working in the same area, we will proactively coordinate our work to reduce the impact on residents.
