Innovation has always been an important part of the mission of The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI). We place great importance on research and development and aim to go beyond the usual design standards to better understand our infrastructure and ultimately extend its service life.
In fact, we have a department that is entirely dedicated to research and innovation. Over the past year, our team has worked on many research and applications projects. One of them aimed to test the use of ultra high-performance fibre-reinforced concrete (UHPC) for repairs on the Bonaventure Expressway. This innovative project was done in collaboration with the École Polytechnique de Montréal, and you can learn all about it in this video:
