The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) would like to notify users that major levelling and paving work, electrical conduit excavations and slab repair work, will be carried out on the Jacques Cartier Bridge, during a weekend work blitz, from Friday, September 6 (10:00 p.m.) to Monday, September 9 (5:00 a.m.). During this blitz, there will be major closures to lanes and access and exit ramps, on the Montreal and South Shore sides. Detours via the local network will be set up (see enclosed map).

Closure details

Weekend of September 6 (10:00 p.m.) to September 9 (5:00 a.m.)

  • Complete closure of the South Shore direction coming from Montréal
    • Complete closure of access to the bridge from Montreal
      (Papineau North and South entrances)
  • Complete closure of the bridge exit ramp toward Hwy. 134 W./Hwy. 132/Saint-Laurent
  • Closing of two out of three lanes at the exit of the bridge on the Montreal side in the direction of De Lorimier Avenue North

*PLEASE NOTE : The Jacques Cartier Bridge multipurpose path and sidewalk will remain open all through the work blitz for the users as well as for athletes who want to travel to the Triathlon de Montréal.

These planned closures during the work are required to ensure user and worker safety. JCCBI recommends that users plan their trips accordingly. Note that this work could be postponed due to unsuitable weather conditions.
