7th International Symposium on Tunnel Safety and Security – March 16-18 2016 – Montreal

13 March 2016

Tunnel safety is a major challenge for both the private and public sectors. The symposium is an opportunity to discuss current practices, emerging trends and research, in the field of tunnel safety.

As part of the Montreal edition of this event, our colleague Pascal Roberge will host on March 16, the conference entitled “Engineering analysis to improve fire safety in the Melocheville Tunnel”, in collaboration with Hubert Dubois and Michel Lamontagne of CIMA +. There they will discuss the design choices and targeted technologies chosen to improve fire safety in the Melocheville Tunnel, in particular: installing surveillance cameras connected to the Cartier Champlain Post, enabling emergency services to intervene more quickly.

This work is currently underway within the TMP0003 project for tunnel protection against vehicles of excessive height and fires.  For the event program, click here.
