26 April 2018
On April 24, JCCBI welcomed the winners of the 2018 PontPop competition for a visit to the Jacques Cartier Bridge and its surroundings. The teams had received their official prize during the event from February 23 to 24. The winning team in the CEGEP category, from the Cégep régional de Lanaudière, and in the secondary category, from the Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf, got a guided tour from two JCCBI experts. Marc-André Marcoux, Senior Project Coordinator, and Jean-François Rousseau, Planning Engineer, coordinated the tour and answered questions from these enthusiastic students.
The visit was an opportunity for us to present the history of the Jacques Cartier Bridge and all of the work that JCCBI is doing right now. Marc-André and Jean-François explained the main technical points of the bridge’s structural components and operations along with operational constraints when it comes to maintenance and work projects.
The students will definitely remember this unique visit!
