Many people noticed that the Jacques Cartier Bridge was lit up in pink during the November 5 election night. Why pink?
The lights of the Jacques Cartier Bridge change with the seasons based on a 365-colour calendar. Day after day over the year, the colour gradually changes from an energizing spring green, to a radiant summer yellow, and then to a voluptuous fall red, and finally to an icy winter blue. Right now, the chromatic calendar is pink because of the transition from fall red to winter blue.
So, the answer as to whether the bridge was specially lit up in pink for the elections is no. The light colour that can be seen at sunset is based on the 365-colour calendar, which is currently set to shades of pink.
