Two complete night closures on the Jacques Cartier Bridge toward Montreal are planned from Thursday, August 31, to Friday, September 1 and from Wednesday, September 6, to Thursday, September 7, for preparatory work for the installation of lampposts. Lanes will close starting at around 10:00 p.m., and the bridge will be completely closed toward Montreal between midnight and 4:00 a.m. One lane will be available toward the South Shore and access will be maintained for emergency services.
This work is required as part of the major repairs currently ongoing to extend the service life of the Jacques Cartier Bridge. This closure is required to ensure user and worker safety during the work. JCCBI recommends that users plan their trips accordingly.
Note that this work could be postponed because of unsuitable weather conditions. Don’t forget that two major work blitzes will be done on the Mercier viaduct at the south approach of the Jacques Cartier Bridge during the weekends of September 2 to 3 and September 30 to October 1.
