Major work blitz on the Jacques Cartier Bridge in March

24 February 2017

A major work blitz, that will include about twelve complete weeknight closures on the Jacques Cartier Bridge, will be carried out in March. These closures are a necessary optimization measure to coordinate the steel reinforcement and light installation work over the traffic lanes on the bridge. Notice of 48 to 72 hours will be issued before each complete closure. Partial weekend lane closures will also be planned for the finalization of the work.

Closure details

March 31, Complete closure of the bridge, in both directions, from midnight to 4 a.m.

April 1st, 1 lane open toward South Shore and 2 lanes open toward Montréal from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m.

April 2nd:

  • 1 lane open toward South-Shore and 2 lanes open toward Montréal from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 1 lane open toward South Shore and 1 lane open toward Montréal from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

These closures are required to ensure user and worker safety during the installation work. JCCBI recommends that users plan their travel and consider other routes to avoid the Jacques Cartier Bridge sector as much as possible.
