Discover the full potential of the lighting effects that LIVING CONNECTIONS will present for the next 10 years. A musical soundtrack created especially for the evening will feature the Orchestre Métropolitain directed by Yannick Nézet-Séguin and a dozen of Montreal artists. Afterwards, the bridge will return to its regular schedule, with illumination starting every evening at dusk.
To make the most of this special illumination:
1. Decide WHERE you want to view it from.
Here are three suggestions:
. The Old Port of Montreal, especially the Clock Tower pier
. Notre-Dame Street, east of the Jacques Cartier Bridge
. From any of several vantage points on the riverbank on the South Shore, including Marie-Victorin Park in Longueuil
Please note: the illumination will be symmetrical and identical for viewers on both the east and west sides of the bridge. Unlike the Loto-Québec fireworks, the illumination is only as tall as the bridge, so be sure to be close enough to see everything.
3. Arrive ON FOOT, BIKE, TAXI, BUS OR METRO (we strongly recommend that you leave your car at home)
4. Turn toward the bridge and open your eyes wide (your mouth might follow suit…)
LIVING CONNECTIONS is a work by a collective led by Moment Factory, with six more Montreal-based multimedia and lighting studios: Ambiances Design Productions, ATOMIC3, Éclairage Public/Ombrages, Lucion Média, Réalisations and UDO Design.
LIVING CONNECTIONS is produced for the 150th anniversary of Canada and the 375th anniversary of Montreal by the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated thanks to the financial participation of the government of Canada, the government of Quebec, the Ville de Montréal and the Great Montrealers.
