From miniature wooden toothpick bridges to iron giants

26 September 2017

On August 22, engineers Marc-André Marcoux and Jean-François Rousseau welcomed Christian Ivanov, winner from the 16th edition of the Compétition Pont-POP at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), for a VIP tour of the Jacques Cartier Bridge. The winner was accompanied by representatives from ÉTS.

Marc-André and Jean-François shared their knowledge with passion and enthusiasm to this small but keenly interested group. The tour went under the bridge in Montreal to the Île Sainte-Hélène pavilion, a pier on Île Sainte-Hélène and the Operations and Maintenance Centre in Longueuil. Our guests greatly appreciated this tour.

A special thank-you to our guides, who planned the route so well that we avoided the heavy rainfall in the forecast. And thanks to the Operations and Maintenance team, who welcomed our visitors during the heavy end-of-afternoon showers!
